Francis married Cicero native Bertha Thurston in Kokomo on December 20, 1920, when she was sixteen and he was seventeen. They had 7 children: including Jack L. Hight, of Kokomo, who is also a Long-term Lover; Bill D. Hight, of Peru; Kathleen Sagarsee and Connie Vallosia, both of Greentown, and three other sons, as well 43 grand-children, 53 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild at the time of Bertha's death in 1987.
