Carolyn had just graduated from Kokomo H.S. and had begun working at Delco when she married Robert at the North Side Church of the Nazarene on July 21, 1950. She was given away by her brother, Howard F. Thompson. After the ceremony was over, Carolyn says she was too bashful to kiss Robert in front of the entire congregation.
Carolyn's secret for a successful marriage: "Think twice, speak once."
