Daniel R. and Grace (Moss) Matchette : 63 Years
Married May 15th, 1901

Wearing this beautiful wedding dress, Grace posed for her portrait after marrying Daniel on May 15, 1901, at the home of her parents near Sycamore. Following their marriage, they started farming three miles east of Greentown, and did so until 1948, when they retired and moved into Greentown. They were active members of the Friends Church in Sycamore for over 50 years. The Matchettes were the parents of 5 children: Florence (Mrs. Worth) Rudy and Margaret (Mrs. Raymond) Knote, of Greentown; Miriam (Mrs. William) Barker, of Bloomington, Indiana; Col. Claude Matchette, U.S.A.; and Mrs. Garrett R. Beck, of Kokomo. Also raised in their home was Estella Moss, a cousin of Mrs. Matchette's. The couple had 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Both Daniel and Grace are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown.
