Levi was married to Nancy Lorenz on December 23, 1933. Almost a year later, on December 3, 1934, Nancy died in childbirth, giving birth to twin sons. One lived only five hours, the other a week. Grace Koones was a good friend of Nancy's and had attended her wedding. A year later, Levi started dating Grace. At the time she was working as a housekeeper and maid at Dr. Rhorer's house on West Sycamore Street. Every Sunday evening he would take her to work and then pick her up the next Saturday and take her home.
Levi and Grace were married on November 26, 1936. They had planned a small family wedding on Thanksgiving Day, but a couple of days before the wedding Grace's parents were in an automobile accident and hospitalized. Grace wanted to wait to get married until her parents were able to attend, but Levi said it was bad luck, so they went to a minister's house and were married.
They are the parents of 3 children: Lois Ann, Wilma, and Wayne Miller. Lois Ann died of leukemia in 1971. They have 5 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Grace always told Levi that he shouldn't even think about leaving her, as she would follow him no matter where he went! They have had a good life together. Christ was always the center of their home. They always attended church when they were able and were very active in their home congregation, Plevna Dunkard Brethren Church. Levi and Grace now reside at Waterford Place Health Campus.
