Wilbur and Nellie began the year 1931 by getting married. The Rev. Everett Nixon performed the ceremony at his home in Kokomo on January 1st that year. Nellie was a homemaker, and Wilbur worked at American Standard & Sanitary Pottery until 1973. The couple has 4 children: Kenneth Pickett, of Manfield, Texas; Harold Pickett, of Joshua, Texas; Herman Pickett, of Kokomo; and Lois (Mrs. Gary) Mathis, of Peru, Indiana. They also have 23 grandchildren, and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. The Picketts are residents of Friendship Haven.
