Don and Gladyce were married on June 14, 1946, in the parsonage of St. Patrick's Church by Rev. Schroeder. Don worked for the Department of Defense and Ivy Tech. Gladys has been a full-time homemaker and mother. She helped raise her brother and nephews. She has always been the family babysitter, caring for many members of her extended family. She and Don have 4 children: Candy L. Jones, Randy E., Donald "Joe," and the late Fredrick Schick. They have 12 grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (with the 12th due in the summer of 2002), and 4 foster great-grandchildren. Both are members of St. Patrick's Church. Don is the third generation in his family to celebrate over 50 years of marriage. His parents, Ben & Audrey Schick, and maternal grandparents, E.C. & Amanda Woodruff, join him in this display.
