Current Library Openings: 

Part-Time Reference Librarian

 

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is seeking a part-time reference librarian for its South Branch. Available immediately, the position is 20 hrs/wk, including weekends and evenings, and starts at $16.68/hr. The successful candidate will assist patrons at the reference desk and online, monitor and assist with public computers, and assist library as a whole with emerging technologies. Ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be technologically savvy and enjoy exploring new ideas.

Substitute Custodian

 

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is seeking a substitute custodian. Available immediately, the hours vary on an as needed basis, including weekends and evenings, and starts at $10.96/hr. Clean and maintain buildings and premises. Maintain interior and exterior lighting. Meeting room set-up.

 

High school degree or equivalent, good driving record, and 1 year experience required.

 Page and Clerical Positions:

There are no openings at this time, however, applications for library page and clerical positions are accepted at all times, even when there are no openings, and are kept active for six months. An application may be filled out at any library location, or Apply Online.

 

Library Page: Part-time. Starting wage is $7.36 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. In most page positions, the primary responsibility is shelving books. Other duties might include shelf reading, locating materials, affixing labels on new materials, covering paperbacks, filing, and occasionally assisting patrons.

 

Library Clerk: Part-time. Starting wage is $9.54 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. Clerks perform tasks in many library departments.  Duties range from processing new library materials, library card registration, collecting library fines and assisting patrons with checking out.


Pre-Employment Screening Requirements:

 

KHCPL has a vital interest in maintaining safe, legal and efficient working conditions for its employees and patrons.
